The North Carolina Thoracic Society ("NCTS," "we," "us," or "our") operates the ncthoracic.org website and job board. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to your data.

Google OAuth (Sign-In)
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use this information solely to authenticate your identity, associate your job postings with your account, and communicate with you about your submissions. We do not receive your Google password.
Job Posting Data
When you submit a job posting, we collect the information you provide: job title, organization name, location, description, application instructions, and your contact email. This information is published on our site upon approval.
Usage Data
We may collect standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for site security and aggregate analytics only. We do not use advertising trackers or sell this data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and manage your account

3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Published job postings: Information you submit for a job posting is published publicly on the site as intended.
- Service providers: We use Google (Firebase, Google OAuth) to operate the site. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of NCTS and its users.
4. Data Retention
Job postings are retained for the duration of the posting (60 days) and removed thereafter unless renewed. Account information is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@ncthoracic.org. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, authentication via Google OAuth, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
